There's still the chance of fine weather for a weekend break... or you may want to spend the early winter planning a holiday awheel for next year.

The Scottish Tourist Board has produced a superb holiday booklet, Cycling in Scotland - and it's free. It features stylised maps and full details of accommodation, bike hire and bike shops. The booklet, written by cycling author Philip Routledge, features a range of full-day and half-day rides, most of them suitable for families.
